Choose a Turkish or UK licence to compare IDP requirements, permit type and important exceptions.
Your domestic licence must show valid category B entitlement for the car being hired; where an IDP is required, category B must also appear on it.
The country IDP table is the same; the licence category changes. Both the domestic licence and, where required, the IDP must show full A1, A2 or A entitlement appropriate to the motorcycle.
Do not rely abroad on a domestic 125 cc privilege attached to Turkish category B. The licence card should show a separate A1, A2 or A category suitable for the motorcycle, and the same category must appear on the IDP where one is required.

Companies often impose a higher age and 1–3 years of category experience according to engine power. This is usually a rental/insurance term rather than a country rule; get written confirmation from the pickup office.
Single-vehicle accidents, drops, undercarriage, tyres/wheels, keys and protective gear may sit outside standard CDW. Check the excess and deposit carefully.
At pickup, confirm that a locally compliant helmet is included and check its fit and condition. For a passenger, verify licence, insurance, seat/footrests and second-helmet requirements.
Automatic-scooter versus manual entitlement, three-wheelers and local minimum ages can vary. Match the booked model’s cc/kW rating to your entitlement in writing.
Important distinction: Legal recognition of a licence does not force a rental company to release a vehicle. The company may require an IDP, credit card, deposit, minimum age or licence tenure. An IDP never replaces the domestic licence; carry both.

Turing is the authorised issuer. Its current guidance says the permit uses the 1949 Geneva format, is valid for one year and must be used with the original domestic licence. In-person and online applications are available; online delivery is limited to Türkiye and Northern Cyprus.

Licence and IDP: Carry valid physical originals of both; a photo or copy is usually insufficient.
Company confirmation: Get the IDP type, translation and licence-tenure requirement in writing from the pickup office.
Driver age: Legal driving age and rental age differ; under-21/25 fees or vehicle-group limits may apply.
Card and deposit: Check for a physical credit card in the main driver’s name and sufficient available limit.
Insurance and excess: Read the CDW cover, damage excess, tyre/glass/undercarriage exclusions and breakdown terms.
Cross-border use: Crossing into another country may need advance permission, extra insurance and a fee.
UK check code: For a GB licence, create a DVLA share code close to travel if requested; it lasts 21 days and is single-use.
Pickup record: Video all four sides; have fuel, mileage and every existing mark recorded on the form.
